Emily Davenport is Hahira’s New Main Street Director

After a lengthy search, the City of Hahira recently hired a new Main Street Director.  Emily Perry Davenport, LL Class of 2010, will work with Hahira business owners, the Downtown Development Authority, and the Hahira City Council to enhance economic development opportunities in downtown Hahira.  She will coordinate special events, implement new ideas and resources, and meet with business owners to help bring profitable impact to business within the City of Hahira.

Mrs. Davenport is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Environmental Geography, and a Master of Public Administration from the same institution.  She has 15 years of experience in the public sector activities of planning, project management, community involvement, event coordination, grant and nomination preparation, and financial management.  Most recently, Mrs. Davenport was Assistant Director of Engineering with the City of Valdosta.  She will begin her new position in June.
