On Saturday, May 19th, Sharah Denton received the Woman of the Year Award from the Valdosta Junior Woman’s Club. Sharah is a member of the 2012 class of Leadership Lowndes.
Sharah Denton participated in the Valdosta City Government 101 Class “which allowed her to understand what she and others could do to make the community continually grow and prosper.” Participating in that class, getting the National Council of Negro Women off the ground and being selected for Leadership Lowndes were the highlights of her achievements in 2011. She said she has met women from all over the community “who are wonderful leaders and examples of mentorship and encouragement,” and these women have inspired her to help others.
Sharah also actively volunteers with The Haven and serves on their executive board. Congratulations Sharah!
