This award is given each year in recognition of Tess Price Cox, the first president and one of the founders of Leadership Lowndes. Tess Price Cox was the cornerstone in building the foundation for the overall program.

To exemplify her spirit, enthusiasm and support of Leadership Lowndes, a special award is presented each year to a Leadership Lowndes class member at the November graduation ceremony. This award is particularly special as it is voted on by the class members.

The McLane Award, named after prominent community leader and Lowndes County Superior Court Judge H. Arthur “Mac” McLane, identifies businesses who demonstrate exceptional support of the Leadership Lowndes organization and its mission.

The recipient is selected by the Leadership Lowndes Board of Trustees and is announced at the class graduation in November each year.
