VALDSTA, January 19, 2012- Thirty community leaders in the Lowndes County area spent the Jan. 14-15 weekend at the Leadership Lowndes retreat in Jekyll Island Ga. The purpose of the weekend retreat was to build relationships among the class members and to set the tone for an exciting year of community leadership opportunities.
Individuals in the 2012 Leadership Lowndes class represent a variety of public and private entities and include the following: Amanda Peacock, Andrea Schruijer, Andy Bolton, Andy Stone, Angie Crawford, Bob Burk, Bruce Allred, Chares White, Dana Richards, Frank Batten, Jamie Hill, JaTaryia Thomas, Jeff Worn, Kevin McCraney, Lake Jordan, Laurie Hancock, Leah McMillan, Lisa Day, Mark Sherry, Matt King, Michael Anderson, Sam Warren, Sandra Wilcher, Sharah Denton, Stacy Bush, Stan Crance, Theresa Freeman, Tina Godwin, Vincent Savino and Wes Sewell.
“I’m very honored to be a part of this extraordinary program and can’t wait for an eventful year!” said Leah McMillan, Staff Counselor at Valdosta State University and 2012 Leadership Lowndes class member.
Retreat activities included a variety of team building exercises designed to develop relationships, build trust, solve problems and learn more about the Leadership Lowndes program.
