Lowndes Youth Leadership League Welcomes 17th Class of Young Community Leaders

VALDSTA, January 19, 2012- The Lowndes Youth Leadership League welcomed its 17th class of young community leaders at a reception held in their honor on January 17th at the Valdosta City Hall Annex. 

The student leaders, handpicked from area high schools, will participate in a four-month program that will include a variety of team building exercises designed to develop relationships, build trust and solve problems; visits to area agencies to learn about public safety and court systems, local government, social services, and exposure to other important community components; and participation in a mandatory community service group project. The year will kick off with an overnight retreat to be held on January 28th at Camp Weed in Live Oak, Florida.

Participants in the 2012 LYLL Class are: Eniolufe Asebiomo, Dallas Beal, Sarah Ann Bradford, Logan Chappuis, Aneesha Chowdhary, Julissa Clapp, Caroline Corbitt, Eliza Elliott, Cristian Escalera, Sara Katharine Evans, Grace Flemer, Malissa                Glisson, Christopher Hanson, Chelsea Linton, Brooke Madsen, Samantha McLendon, Dorsey Mathis, Martha Michael, Natalie Munro, Laura Murphy, Victoria Ostapski, Alison Peters, Dakota Runnels, Joseph Ruse, Margaret Scruggs, Golden Smith, Hannah Waller, Gabriel Newbern, Elizabeth Anne Wilson, and Bobbi Wiseman.
